ApplySmart AI offers two powerful ways to create professional cover letters. Choose the method that works best for your needs:
You can either create AI-generated cover letters from scratch or upload existing cover letters for optimization suggestions.

Navigate to Cover Letters
Click on "Cover Letters" in the main navigation menu or go to the Cover Letters page.

Choose Creation Method
Click "Create New" for AI-generated cover letters or "Upload & Optimize" for existing cover letters.

Provide job details
Enter the job title, company name, and job description. You can either paste a job posting URL (we'll extract the description automatically) or copy and paste the complete job description text directly. The more detailed your job description, the better your AI-generated cover letter will be.

Select your resume
Choose which resume to base the cover letter on. This helps ensure consistency between your resume and cover letter. If you don't have any resumes yet, you can create one on the Resumes page.

Generate and customize
Let AI create your cover letter, then review and edit as needed to make it perfect for your application.

Download or save
Export as PDF or save to your account for future reference and easy access.
The more detailed your job description, the better your AI-generated cover letter will be. Include specific requirements and company information when possible.
Method 2: Upload & Optimize Existing Cover Letter

Go to Cover Letters Page
Navigate to the Cover Letters page and click the "Upload & Optimize" button.

Choose Input Method
You can either upload a file (text .txt or PDF .pdf) or paste your cover letter content directly into a text box.

AI Analysis
Our AI analyzes your cover letter and provides detailed feedback including strengths, areas for improvement, and actionable suggestions.

Review Optimized Version
Get an improved version of your cover letter that addresses the identified weaknesses while maintaining your strengths.
